Top Row: Length: 51.0 inches. Width 7.0 inches. Length w/fringe 83.5 inches.

Beads:

Columns: 315. Rows: 14 wide. Total 5,550 includes 1,110 half beads (4mm).

Materials:

Warp: Deer Leather. Weave: Artificial Sinew.

Description:

A polymer beaded belt with symbols representing all types of precipitation, all surface and groundwater and the Sky World. On top of the Sky World some say it is the sacred white corn, others suggest it is the eagle. Beneath the Sky Dome is the sacred white pine. The eagle, sacred pine and sky dome are constructed with ancient shell wampum from 1640-1650’s.

This belt was presented (2017) to Peter Jemison, Cattaraugus Seneca Faith Keeper and site manager of the Seneca Art and Cultural Center, Victor, New York.
